Lesbian Flag

Lesbian: Refers to a woman who is emotionally, romantically, and/or physically attracted to other women. (PFLAG National Glossary of Terms)

Bisexual Flag

Bisexual: Commonly referred to as bi or bi+. The term refers to a person who acknowledges in themselves the potential to be attracted--romantically, emotionally and/or sexually--to people of more than one gender, not necessarily at the same time, in the same way, or in the same degree. The "bi" in bisexual can refer to attraction to genders similar to and different from one's own. Blue: Attraction to different genders (historical: sexual attraction to the opposite sex only)
Purple: Attraction to both and different genders (historical: sexual attraction to both sexes)

Non-binary Flag

Non-binary: Refers to people who do not subscribe to the gender binary. They might exist between or beyond the man-woman binary. (PFLAG National Glossary of Terms)

Flag Meaning:
White: People who are many or all genders
Black: Agender or genderlessness
Purple: Fluidity and multiplicity of many gender experiences, the uniqueness and flexibility of nonbinary people, as well as those whose gender experiences include being of or between female and male

Pansexual Flag

Pansexual: Refers to a person whose emotional, romantic and/or physical attraction is to people inclusive of all genders. (PFLAG National Glossary of Terms)

Transgender Flag

Transgender: Often shortened to trans, from the Latin prefix for “on a different side as.” A term describing a person’s gender identity that does not necessarily match their assigned sex at birth. (PFLAG National Glossary of Terms)

Agender Flag

Agender: Refers to a person who does not identify with or experience any gender. (PFLAG National Glossary of Terms)

Aromantic Flag

Aromantic: Sometimes abbreviated as aro, the term refers to an individual who does not experience romantic attraction. Aromantic people exist on a spectrum of romantic attraction and can use terms such as gray aromantic or grayromantic to describe their place within that spectrum. (PFLAG National Glossary of Terms)

Asexual Flag

Asexual: Sometimes abbreviated as ace, the term refers to an individual who does not experience sexual attraction. Asexual people exist on a spectrum of sexual attraction and can use terms such as gray asexual or gray ace to describe themselves. (PFLAG National Glossary of Terms)

Genderfluid Flag

Genderfluid: Describes a person who does not consistently adhere to one fixed gender and who may move among genders. (PFLAG National Glossary of Terms)

Genderqueer Flag

Genderqueer: Refers to individuals who blur preconceived boundaries of gender in relation to the gender binary. They can also reject commonly held ideas of static gender identities. Sometimes used as an umbrella term in much the same way that the term queer is used, but only refers to gender. (PFLAG National Glossary of Terms)

Lavender: The mixture of blue and pink, meant to represent androgynes and androgyny
White: Represents agender identity
Dark chartreuse green: The inverse of lavender, meant to represent those outside of and without reference to the gender binary.

Intersex Flag

Intersex: Used to refer to people who are biologically between the medically expected definitions of male and female. This can be through variations in hormones, chromosomes, internal or external genitalia, or any combination of any or all primary and/or secondary sex characteristics (PFLAG National Glossary of Terms)

Flag Meaning: "The flag is comprised of a golden yellow field, with a purple circle emblem. The colours and circle don’t just avoid referencing gender stereotypes, like the colours pink and blue, they seek to completely avoid use of symbols that have anything to do with gender at all. Instead the circle is unbroken and unornamented, symbolising wholeness and completeness, and our potentialities. We are still fighting for bodily autonomy and genital integrity, and this symbolises the right to be who and how we want to be." - Morgan Carpenter, 2020
