Library-Provided eTextbooks

Welcome to the Muntz Library Textbook Guide!

The Muntz Library has a selection of ebook versions of textbooks for UT Tyler classes. Use the side tabs to find your subject to see if there are textbooks available for your classes.

Most Ebook Textbooks can be used by an unlimited number of people at the same time. Look for the Limited users! See description icon for books with limited access for more information.

Can't find your textbook on the guide? Sometimes we still have them! Run the title through Ebook Central. If it's in there but we don't own it, there may be an option to request it.

Limited Users! See more information iconNote on limited-use ebooks

Due to publisher limitations, some ebooks may only be checked out by 3-6 users at any given time. Any time you login to print, save, or download any portion of the book you are checking it out. Additionally, reading online for longer than 30 minutes will trigger a checkout. You are absolutely allowed to do so, just remember that this may not be an option if 3-6 other students are doing the same thing at that moment. If this is the case, you will see a message stating that the book has reached its check-out limits, and to try again at a specific time.

In order to mitigate wait times, please choose the shortest checkout option, usually 1 hour. You can download the chapter you need, then the book will be available for another student.

Open Educational Resources

Library ebooks are one option to provide no-cost textbooks to students. Open educational resources (OER) are another great option. If you are interested in adopting OER for your class visit our OER guide or contact your librarian!
