Zotero files store on your computer or laptop's hard drive. This can make it challenging to access them from a remote location.
But Zotero has a sync-ing feature that allows you to access files and save records to your library remotely, simply by setting up a personal Zotero account.
Sync-ing from primary (personal) computer:
1. Locate the Sync tab in the Preferences menu (Edit link → Preferences → Sync).
2. Click Create Account and follow the prompts to set up Zotero ID and password.
3. Enter your new ID and Password in the appropriate "Data Syncing" text boxes & click the Set Up Syncing button.
4. Click OK (bottom right) to finish.
Sync-ing from remote computer:
1. Locate the Sync tab in the Preferences menu (Gear Wheel icon → Preferences → Sync).
2. Enter personal Zotero ID and Password in the corresponding text boxes.
3. Tick the Sync automatically box and click OK.
