APA format help

If your class is using the APA (American Psychological Association) style for citations, we have a guide for you:

APA Citation Guide

It includes basic examples and links out to additional assistance.  The Library also has the full book available in the Ready Reference area on the main floor, behind the Reference Desk near the student computers.  It can be used ONLY in the library.

If you are in Academic Search Complete and click on a specific article, note that on the right there is an option to Cite.  Click on that and scroll down to APA for citing the article in a References list.  It is still best to doublecheck with an APA Manual, but this will at least preserve all of the essential elements and be at least close to correct.  Be especially careful with capitalization within article titles!

For writing assistance, please take advantage of the University's Writing Center.  Their main office is BUS 202, email, phone 903-565-5993.  Their office hours are M-Th, 9-6 and Friday 9-3.  They prefer that you make an appointment to meet with a tutor.  The Writing Center also keeps evening hours in the "Living Room" area of the Library near the front door during the fall and spring semesters.  Beginning the second or third weeks of each of those semesters they will accept drop-ins on Tu/We/Th, 8 p.m. until 10 p.m.

Annotated Bibliographies

Need to pull together an annotated bibliography and not sure how to do it?

Here's a great webpage from Purdue University's Online Writing Lab that gives definitions, examples, and samples.
