If you are planning your Fall classes and wish to incorporate a library instruction component, please contact me! I am available for instruction on library resources, whether it be one-on-one, with groups, or for class instruction. I can come to your class or we can reserve the library computer lab (LIB 422) if it is not already in use. There are 32 computers in that room, a screen, and a teacher's stand.
Full information on our Instruction Program can be found on our website.
Please keep in mind that, in order to be properly prepared, I do ask that I get at least a week's notice for instructional sessions. It is also very helpful if I am sent a copy of the syllabus so that I can meet the specific information needs of the students working on assignments.
I can also create specialized research guides for your class which you can then link to in Canvas, or, given some lead time, I can create specialized videos on library resources that will be posted to the library Youtube channel and you can link to those.
Is your program going through an external review? Are you working on proposing a new program? Remember to get in touch with us early so we can make sure that you have up-to-date information on all of the library resources and services available for your program.
Are there books or other materials that you would like to see added to the Library's collection? Please contact me (email preferred) with the item information.
Departmental library budgets are usually set in mid to late fall. June 1 is the usual deadline for requests to be submitted, but I can start on request lists at any time.
Do you have an idea for a display that you would like to see in the Library? Do you work with a student group that would be interested in putting together a display? Contact me or our Outreach Librarian (Christine Forisha, email@example.com, 903.565.5992) to discuss your ideas!
