HIST 4379: Antebellum America ("The Age of Jackson")

Includes Journals of the Continental Congress through the Congressional Record, including the Statutes at Large and the Serial Set. Note that the official records of Congress go through several title changes during the antebellum period: Annals of Congress (1789-1824), Register of Debates (1824-1837), and Congressional Globe (1833-1873). The Serial Set includes House and Senate Documents and Reports on selected topics including the immigration of Indians and the Mexican War.

Search for individuals in the 1790, 1800, 1810, 1820, 1860, 1870, 1880, 1890 (partial), 1900, 1910, 1920, 1930 (partial), and 1940 (partial) census data. Browse the remaining years. Full images of original handwritten pages. Texas is complete for both 1930 and 1940.

The printed census summaries of the various schedules (population, agriculture, industry, etc.), plus the instructions to the census takers. Not all go back to 1790.
